The Friends of the Texas A&M University Libraries supports student and staff success through its efforts to help fund world class research collections, digital resources, exhibits, preservation, programming, and other activities of the University Libraries.

An Evening With the Friends” 

Saturday, April 25th, 2026 @ 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Join The Friends for our annual event as we welcome Aggie Alum author Christy Daugherty ’86.

This year our event will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the Phillips Event Center. The program will include dinner, a silent auction, an update on The Friends’ and Texas A&M Libraries’ activities, and feature Texas A&M graduate and published author, Christy Daugherty ’86.

The evening ‘s theme will be Spy-craft and mystery featuring keynote speaker, Christy Daugherty, sharing her professional story from Texas A&M to England and the creation of her most recent alias persona, Ava Glass, author of the Emma Makepeace British Spy series. Dubbed ‘The new queen of spy fiction’ by The Guardian newspaper, and ‘the real thing’ by the Washington Post, as Ava Glass, Ms. Daugherty has published three books, The Chase, The Traitor, The Trap, with a fourth coming out in March 2026: The Hiding Season. “An Evening with The Friends” will be the first in-person discussion of this new book in the U.S. by the author.

2025-2026 Fundraising Focus

The Friends Texas A&M Sesquicentennial Fund

The Friends began celebrating the University’s 150th anniversary in 2023 by establishing the Friends Texas A&M Sesquicentennial Fund in anticipation of supporting the Libraries participation in University-wide Sesquicentennial activities through preservation projects, programming, and asset acquisition.
